I have been working in the not for profit sector for over twenty five years initially developing and managing housing and support services across a range of needs. This experience has broadened to include charities, community groups and a range of housing and care and support providers. I have worked at a senior level in a number of organisations in London and the south east and regularly travel for work across England.
For the past ten years I have worked independently providing training, facilitation, coaching and consultancy services as well as being an Associate for Action Learning Associates, Sitra and Vanilla Ventures. I have also been an Associate for TPAS, NDTi and the Centre for Housing and Support.
In terms of action learning I have been facilitating sets since 2002 and have become a very experienced facilitator. In 2009 I was awarded the Institute of Learning and Management Development Award in Action Learning Facilitation. I have been in my own self facilitated peer set for independent consultants and facilitators since 2006 and I also attend the quarterly ALF, Action Learning for Facilitators, meeting in London. In 2013 I ran a workshop at the International Foundation for Action Learning (IFAL) about a pilot project offering action learning for people who used mental health support services.
This on-going involvement and personal learning ensures that my practice is of the highest standard and that I keep abreast of developments in the field.
My work has always has been characterised by a focus on developing the human resource, ensuring services operate within an equality and diversity framework and promoting the opportunities for the user's voice to be heard during the planning, development and management of services. Over the last few years I have become increasingly interested in co-production and have started a venture with Augusto D Mello and Pia Hansen, www.coproduced.co.uk.
